Tanworth

Description

Gift with warranty from Walter son of Ieva to John Archer, for homage and service, of the land which Ieva his mother held in Tanewrth' and which descended to the grantor; to hold the same rendering to the said Walter annually a pair of white gloves at Easter and to the earl of Warwick the service pertaining to that land, namely 12 barbed arrows and two capons at Whitsun; and for this the said John gives 40 shillings. Witnesses: John Durevassal steward of the earl, Robert de Hulehal', Henry de Lae, William Archer, Richard servant of the earl, Walter Wudard', Ralph de Lae, Walter the clerk, William de Bottel' and others. Seal on tag, circular, white. A fleur de lys. Legend defaced.
