Description

Lease for the life of the lessee with warranty from William Fyfyde of Henleye in Ardene, John Godesalue of the same, John Hasellond of the same, John Harpour of the same and Edmund Barker of the same to John atte Lee of Toneworth of a certain parcel of land with meadows, hedges, and ditches called Ouerfurlonge in a field called Morecroft' in Toneworth, extending in length from Somerfordelone as far as Marelone and in breadth between land formerly belonging to Robert de la Bache on the one hand and Somerfordelone on the other as it is defined by its boundaries, which land the said lessee formerly gave to the said lessors; to hold for the life of the lessee, rendering annually 13 shillings and 4 pence [ 2 terms], the said lessors to have right of distraint if the said rent was unpaid or in arrears after a fortnight of any of the said terms. Dated at Toneworth', Sunday after the feast of St Nicholas, 8 Richard II. Witnesses: Richard de Harewell' of Wotton', Thomas Archer of Toneworth', Thomas atte Berne of the same, Thomas atte Mulne of Henleye and others. Broad tag slit to take 5 seals: circular seal of red wax, incomplete, 3/4 in, a paschal lamb within a circular border; 3 fragments of red wax.
