Description

Papers relating to the legal case of the Emma Silver Mining Company, Limited and Albert Grant, Trenor William Park and others. The case involved the plaintiffs claim that money was raised by the defendants through misrepresentation of facts relating to the mine. The case lasted for five months with the defendants being found not liable. Papers include: I. Information regarding expenses gathered under oath from the American members including loans and shares obtained. II. Letter from Mr Alexander MacDougall on the remedies available to the company against the American vendors. III. Two copies of the writ issued against the American vendors offering the proceedings to be stayed under the provision of £1,000,000 by the defendants. IV.
