Description

Bundle of papers relating to the tenancy of property in Church Street belonging to Lucas' charity, and to 5 Henley Street, belonging to Smith's Charity.

1) 23 March 1859: Tenancy agreement with Henry Best Sowden, gent, for the yearly tenancy at £24, of premises in Church Street, belonging to Lucas Charity. With clauses re maintenance and repair.

2) 1861 Estimate from F. Martin for painting and repairs at Mr Sowden's house.

3) 1863 Estimate from F Martin for installation of water closet at house in occupation of Miss Edden on Old Town.

4) 1862 Notice to quity and new tenancy agreement at £28 p.a. with George Russell, hosier, in re 5 Henley Street (Smith's Charity).

5) c.1862 List of tenants of Smiths' charity, with rents paid.

6) June 1859 Notice to Joseph Dolby, Chelsea, draper, as assignee of William Allcock of Stratford, blacksmith, deceased, to effect repairs as specified upon various premises in Stratford leased to Allcock by the Trustees of Smiths' charity in 1821.

7) 13 October 1859 Agreement between Joseph Dolby and William Holtom, Stratford, builder, for the repairing of various premises in Stratford-upon-Avon.
