5 April 1887: Lease from Stratford-upon-Avon Corporation to James Downing and Albert Edward Parkhouse, Stratford-upon-Avon, mercers and drapers, of 20 Bridge Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, for 21 years at £85 per annum, with proviso that if frontage is timbered and restored, then rent to be only £65. Similarly, if frontage is not timbered, rent to be £65. PlanEndorsed with assignment 28 July 1893 by Downing to Parkhouse 20 February 1905: Agreement between Messrs. Edward Albert Parkhouse and Gathorne Ashfield, Stratford-upon-Avon, drapers and Walter john Valentine, High Street, Beford, draper and Harvey Henry Freeman, Stratford-upon-Avon, draper, for the sale to Valentine and Freeman of a drapers' business in Stratford upon Avon, they paying £1150 for the goodwill, £550 for the fixtures nad fittings, £50 for vehicles and stabling and a sum for the stock in trade to be determined as book value less 10%.
