Copy of the will of Thomas Baylis of Old Stratford, yeoman. In his will he leaves £6 to be distributed among the poor of Stratford; to his grandson Thomas Mason, son of Daniel Mason, mercer, a messuage and garden in Bridge Street, Stratford upon Avon known as the White Hart now in the tenure of Charles Hopkins,a meadow in Old Stratford now in the tenure of Michael Palmer both to be handed over after the death of Thomas Baylis' wife Isabel. Also to his grandchildren Thomas, John and Isabel Mason, children of Daniel £100 each to be invested until they are 21 and to his grandchildren John and Mary Newman, children of son in law John £50 ach to be invested until the age of 21. To his daughter Elizabeth Bartlett, wife of Richard Bartlett £100 and £50 if she have a child; to his daughter Francis Mason, wife of Daniel Mason a messuage where the said Daniel now lives, for the tem of her life and then to his grandson Thomas; to his grandson John Newman a messuage in Wood Street in the occupaton of Thomas Carless; to is grandaughter Elizabeth Lea a close and barn in Old Stratford now in the tenure of Robert Bridle; to his grandaughter Mary Newman a messuage in Henley Street in the tenure of Mr Beane; to his grandson Thomas Hemming a messuage, barn and garden in Greenhill Street now in the tenure of Robert Hobbes or Howes; to his wife Isabel Baylis £16 for funeral expenses; his wife to enjoy all rents and profits.
