Description

Bond from Margery le Archer to Master William le Archer to pay him 16 marks in four equal portions, namely 4 marks apiece on the feast of the Annunciation 1299, and the feasts of St. John the Baptist, Michaelmas and Christmas next following, without any delay unless she agrees to pay the four marks arising annually from Monekespath' until the said William has been fully repaid; and should the said William require payment before the said terms then he may take all her corn and service, by the judgment of good and lawful men, and sell or retain the same until he has received full satisfaction; the said Margery renouncing all defences and appeals, especially royal prohibitions, the privilege of the market, and the privilege granted to those marked by the cross. Witnesses: William Herbert, William Broun, John atte Berne, John Harding, Elias Tappyng' and many others. Fragment of circular, white seal on tag, defaced.
