Appointment Lease and Release, the Release dated the 25th March 1820 between William Painter, late of Birmingham, plater but now of Snitterfield, gentleman of the 1st part, Richard Loveday of the Borough of Warwick, auctioneer of the 2nd part, Thomas Clark Smart of the Borough of Warwick and Benjamin Smart of the Rock Mills in the Parish of Milverton, cotton spinner (two of the sons of Benjamin Smart the elder heretofore of the Parish of Milverton, mealman, but late of the Borough of Warwick, gentleman deceased) of the 3rd part and Robert Philips of the Park, Prestwich, Lancashire of the 4th part of property described in DR38/311-312 for £4500. Signed: William Painter, Richard Loveday, Thomas Clark Smart, Benjamin Smart and Robert Philips. Seals mostly obliterated oval, a crest being a wyvern's head? Witnesses: Thomas Tidmas and Joseph Page, solicitors, Warwick and G. Cattell Greenway, solicitor, Warwick. Lease dated 24th March 1820 between William Painter, Richard Loveday, Thomas Clark Smart, Benjamin Smart the younger and Robert Philips of the same property for one year. Signed: William Painter, Richard Loveday, Thomas Clark Smart and Benjamin Smart. Seals obliterated. Witnessed as before. 'Spring Farm'.
