Description

Lease for the life of the lessee from Richard Archer esquire to Alice, formerly the wife of Thomas Archer father of the said Richard of the annual rent of 4 marks to be paid at Midsummer, Michaelmas, Christmas and Lady Day in equal portions; to hold for the term of her life, the said Alice to have the right of distraint on lands and tenements of the said Richard Archer called Walters and Highynwykes in Toneworth' in the county of Warr' if the said rent was unpaid or in arrears one month beyond any of the said terms. Dated at Henley in Ardern', Thursday after the feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 35 Henry VI. Witnesses: John Trussell esquire, John Aylesbury esquire, John Deyst', Master of the Gild of Henley, John Stokes the elder, Lawrence de Blith and others. Tag for seal with traces of red wax.
