Description

Indenture dated 17th May 1866 between William Scruby of Snitterfield yeoman of the one part and John Lane of Stratford-upon-Avon gentleman of the other part whereby the property referred to in DR 38/734 together with 3 messuages erected and built by William Scruby as part of the last mentioned land formerly in the occupations of William Goode, Thomas Davenport and Widow Tandy and then of Robert Boult, Thomas Philips and John Grayhurst was mortgaged by William Scruby to John Lane for £120. Signed William Scruby and John Lane. Red wax seal demi-horse rampant with a crown between the forelegs. Witnessed by A. Talliss and Francis Reeves Hobbins.
