Claverdon and Lapworth

Description

Attested Copy Release between John Reason the elder late of Fulbrook Park but then of Stratford-upon-Avon yeoman (see DR 38/750) of one part and John Reason the younger of Shottery yeoman of the other part. Reciting a Marriage Settlement dated 8th 9th March 1750 between John Reason, father of John Reason the elder of the 1st part, John Reason the elder and Elizabeth Fairfax of the 2nd part and John Webb and William Welch of the 3rd part whereby John Reason the father granted to John Webb and William Welch the hereditaments described in DR 38/752 being in Lapworth to the use of John Reason the elder for life, to the use of Elizabeth Fairfax for life with remainder to the use of child or children of the said John Reason and Elizabeth Fairfax in such shares as the said John Reason the elder should appoint by Deed or Will and reciting that John Reason the elder upon the death of his father became seised in fee simple of the hereditaments in Claverdon described in DR 38/750, it was witnessed that the said John Reason the elder in consideration of £250 paid by John Reason the younger to his sisters Elizabeth and Lucy Reason (the other two children of the marriage of John Reason and Elizabeth Fairfax) in satisfaction of their portions. He the said John Reason the elder released to his son John Reason the younger the hereditaments described in DR 38/752 in Claverdon and Lapworth in fee simple (subject to a Mortgage of £200 upon the property in Claverdon made 19th June 1780 between John Reason the elder of one part and Thomas Daniel of West Street, Warwick tailor deceased of the other part described in DR 38/750). Witnessed by Charles H. Hunt and William Penn. Attested 13th November 1789 by Samuel Oliver Hunt and Thomas Attwood, clerks to Mr. Hunt.
