Description

Gift with warranty from William de Bello Campo, earl of Warwick, to Simon le Archer of Toneworth' and Alice his wife, for homage and service, of nine acres and half a rood from the waste of Toneworth' of which 51/2 acres extend in length from the land of Roger de Bordesleye as far as le Causey, and lie in width between the land which belonged to Richard the clerk and the highway leading from Beleye towards Warwich; and 31/2 acres and half a rood extend in length from le Causey as far as Hauekesschaweslade and lie in width between the said highway and the grantor's waste; to hold the same to the said Simon and Alice, their heirs and assigns, except a religious house, rendering annually 3s 01/2d (2 terms) for all services save suit of court at Toneworth' at Christmas and Whitsun and the payment of scutage at the rate of 1 penny per acre when it falls due.
