Description

Gift with warranty from Thomas earl of Warwick to Henry de la Lee, his heirs and assigns (except a religious house), for homage and service, of 31/2 acres of land in Taneworth' lying between the land which the said Henry held by the gift of earl Henry the grantor's father and two acres of land which William Archer held of the grantor on one side, and the road leading between the great wood downwards as far as Calvesleya [?on the other]; to hold the same rendering annually 7 pence (2 terms); and for this the said Henry gives one mark. Witnesses: Sir John Durvassal', Henry de Lodbroc', Richard de Croupes, Robert de Hulehal', William Archer, R obert de Crawenhal', Walter the clerk, Richard the servant and others. Seal on tag, circular, white, damaged. On a shield a chevron. Legend: [SIG]ILL' T[HOME]COMITIS WARWICHIE.
