Description

Agreement between John Archer of Tonworthe esquire and John Sumpter alias Barbor of Banwell' in the county of Somerset, yeoman, that the said John Archer on behalf of the said John Sumpter alias Barbor should sue and recover certain lands and tenements in the lordship of Tonneworth' called the More, Wystons at his own cost and when recovered the said John Archer should pay the said John Sumpter 20 marks for the same and the said John Sumpter should be willing to testify to the same; if, however, the said John Archer could not recover the said lands the said John Sumpter should pay his costs for the same and also be willing to testify to the same; both parties being bound in the sum of £40 to perform this agreement.
