Description

Lease for 40 years with warranty from Robert Fulwode esquire to John Carpenter of Tonworth' of a messuage in Tonworth' then occupied by the said John Carpenter with a close and meadow belonging to the same; to hold for 40 years from the feast of the Purification of Our Lady next [2 February] for the annual rent of 11s. [2 terms], also paying heriot after a death and suit of court to the manor of Fulwode upon reasonable summons; the said Robert to have the right of re-entry if the said rent was unpaid or in arrears after 3 months the said John was to repair and maintain the said buildings and to build new ones to the same if he wished at his own cost during the said term, the said Robert supplying the timber for the same; the said John to be quit of chief rents and services to the chief lords.
