Attested copy [late 16th or early 17th cent] of a feoffment with warranty from Robert Throckmarton knight, lord of the manor of Tonworthe to Thomas Collet for £7 of a messuage with gardens and orchards adjacent to the said messuage in Tonworthe, and 1 meadow called Barckeswell Southehill containing about 12 acres, extending in length from a lane leading from Tonworthe church towards Solyhull on the east as far as the lands of Elizabeth Hunt called Beamondes on the west and in breadth between a small lane leading from Scosc grene towards a barn there called Tythe barne to the south and the land of William Payne to the north; 2 closes with adjacent meadows in Tanworthe called the Broke meadow containing 20 acres, lying in breadth between the lands of William Chambers called Delstyche and the common field called Heyne field to the north and the lands of Humphrey Archer esquire called Bayruddynge to the south and in length between the lane leading from the church of Tonworth towards the said Tythe barn to the west as far as the lands of William Chambers called Tomehill to the east; a copse of wood containing one acre, lying in breadth between the lands of Humphrey Archer esquire called the Stockynge to the east and the common field of Heynefeild to the west and in length between the said land of Humphrey Archer called the Stockynge on all sides; a close of pasture called Fencharkes containing 8 acres, lying in length from a lane leading from Tonworthe church towards Solyhull to the east as far as the lands of Edward Ferrars esquire in the tenure of William Belamye to the west and in breadth between the lands of Edward Ferrers esquire to the north as far as lands of John Waryng called Fenchers to the south; one close of pasture called Langley heyth containing 10 acres, lying in length between a lane leading from Tonworthe church as far as the lord's wood called Erles Wood to the east and the land of John Dolphyn called Stylecroftes to the west and in breadth between the lands of William Chambers to the north and the lands of John Eede in the tenure of Thomas Prestwood to the south; one furlong of arable land called Sherwoodes hyll in the common field called Heyn fylde with an adjacent meadow at the lower end of the said furlong containing 8 acres, lying in breadth between the lands of William Chambers to the east and the lands of the said William Chambers called Sonehill to the west, and in length between the lands of the said Humphrey Archar called Budlond to the north and the lands of the said Thomas Collet called the Ruddyng to the south, one meadow called Wignelmeadow containing 2 acres, lying in the Heynefeild between the land of John Moore to the east and the land of William Chambers called Delstyche to the west in breadth, and in length between the rivulet called Heynefield broke to the south and the land of the said William Chambers to the north; 5 selions of land and 1 meadow in the same field, lying between the land of the said William Chambers and the land of William Belami in breadth, and in length between the rivulet called Heynefield broke to the east and land lately belonging to William Asshewell' to the west; 6 selions containing 3 acres with feedings and hedges pertaining to the same, lying in the common field, between the land of the said Humphrey Archar esquire called the Stockyng and the lands of William Chambers; 6 selions of land and one 'lez fether' containing 3 acres lying in the same common field abutting on the said rivulet called the Heynefield broke, lying between the lands of Baldwin Ilshawe on the one hand and the land of William Balamy on the other; one cottage lying between the lands of Philip Yoxall to the east and an open space to the west, the messuage of the said Philip Yoxall to the south and the messuage of Roger Shakespere to the north; one pit lying in Tonworthe between the land of the said Philip Yoxall to the east and an open space there to the west and the cemetary to the south and an open space to the north; to hold to the said Thomas Collet and Eleanor his wife and their lawful issue or in default to the following persons and their lawful issure in turn: John Collet, brother of the said Thomas, Alice Pemerton wife of Robert Pemerton, sister of the said Thomas, Agnes, sister of the said Thomas, the lawful issue of Elizabeth Wheler deceased, late wife of Thomas Wheler and sister of the said Thomas Collet, or in default to the rightful heirs of the said Thomas Collet; to hold from the said Robert Throkmarton as of his manor of Tonworthe by fealty, heriot, suit of court at view of frankpledge and court baron of the said manor of Tanworthe twice a year, and for the annual rent of 9s. 8d. [2 terms] and for relief of 4s. 10d. when due. Appointment of attorney by the said Robert of Henry Grene of Tonworthe yeoman and William Chamber of the same yeoman to deliver seisin.
