Snitterfield Old Stratford

Description

Indenture dated 22nd November 1862 between Henry Smith of Snitterfield gentleman of one part and John Handy of Stratford-upon-Avon banker of the other part whereby firstly a cottage and garden, brewhouse etc. situate at The Green, Snitterfield (see DR 38/620) purchased by Henry Smith from Henry and Ann Eddins and then in the occupation of Joseph Gardner, secondly a cottage and garden etc. adjoining the last mentioned property formerly belonging to William Duffin and occupied by him, but then belonging to Henry Smith, also thirdly a newly erected messuage and garden late in the possession of Thomas Loach, which said garden is 18ft. 8ins. in length and 12ft. wide purchased by Henry Smith from Henry Bellamy and also fourthly a piece of land near the Gospel Oak in Wayfield or Wayfield Lane in the Parish of Old Stratford containing one quarter of an acre purchased by Henry Smith from John Normanton Freer esquire, was mortgaged to John Handy by Henry Smith for £500.
