Description

Attested Copy Indenture of Assignment between Alice Dighton of Hitcoat [Hidcote] in the Parish of Mickleton, Gloucestershire widow and John Dighton of Staples Inn, London (Executors of the last Will of Richard Dighton late of Clifford Chambers, Gloucestershire esquire deceased) of the 1st part, Sir Hugh Clopton of Stratford-upon-Avon knight, Henry Talbot of the Parish of St. George, Hanover Square, Middlesex esquire Catherine his wife and Thomas Boothby Skyrmsher of the same place esquire Ann his wife (which said Catherine and Ann were the only children of Sir Hugh Clopton) of the 2nd part, Mary Jones of Bruton Street in the said Parish of St. George, Hanover Square, Middlesex widow of the 3rd part and John Edwin of the same place esquire of the 4th part. Reciting DR 38/1171 whereby two terms of 500 and 300 years were limited to Richard Dighton and Carew Dighton upon certain trusts therein expressed and reciting that the said Catherine Talbot and Ann Skrymsher were the two children of the marriage of Sir Hugh Clopton and Elizabeth Milward and reciting DR 38/1179 and the death of Carew Dighton, it was thereby witnessed that Alice Dighton and John Dighton in consideration of 5/- apiece paid to them by John Edwin assigned to John Edwin (at the direction of Sir Hugh Clopton, Henry Talbot Catherine his wife, Thomas Boothby Skrymsher Ann his wife) the two several terms of 500 years and 300 years in the premises described in DR 38/1171 in trust for Mary Jones widow and Mary Jones, her daughter. Witnessed by J. Palmer, Henry Turbitt, David Thomas and Edward Lewis. Attested 27th March 1845 by Edward J. B. Jellicoise and Matthew Marshall.
