Description

Indentures of Lease and Release, the Release dated 9th August 1697 between Mary Cooper of the Parish of Stepney, Middlesex of the 1st part, David Cooper and Edward Cooper, sons of the said Mary of the 2nd part and William Hunt mercer and William Warry tobacconist both of Stratford-upon-Avon of the 3rd part whereby Mary Cooper in consideration of her natural love and affection for the said David Edward Cooper as also for Charles Cooper her sons and also that David Cooper had agreed to pay to John Cooper (son of the said Mary) if he attain 21 years, the sum of £30 charged upon one yard land thereinafter settled on him, or if the said John Cooper died under 21 years of age to pay the said sum to Grace Dudley and Katherine Hambich or the survivor, and also in consideration that Edward Cooper had covenanted to pay to Lettice (daughter of the said Mary Cooper) as her Marriage Portion the sum of £50 charged upon one yard land thereinafter settled on him, granted to William Hunt and William Warry and their heirs the premises referred to in DR 38/1210 to the use of Mary Cooper for her life and thereafter as touching and concerning the messuage at Clifford Chambers to the use of Charles Cooper and his heirs and as touching and concerning one yard land and a half, parcel of the premises formerly belonging to William Cale (see DR 38/1202 7 DR 38/1207) then in the occupations of John Burman and Samuel Smith to the use of David Cooper and the heirs of his body and in default of issue to the use of Edward Cooper and the heirs of his body and in default of such issue to the use of Christopher Cooper and the heirs of his body, remainder to the use of the right heirs of Mary Cooper, and as touching and concerning one yard land other part of the land referred to in DR 38/1202 DR 38/1207 then in the occupation of John Burman to the use of Edward Cooper for her life, remainder to such person as Edward Cooper might marry for her life, remainder to the use of the heirs of the body of Edward Cooper begotten on the body of such wife, remainder to the use of the heirs of the body of Edward Cooper, remainder to David Cooper and the heirs of his body, remainder to the use of Charles Cooper and the heirs of his body, Remainder to the use of John Cooper and the heirs of his body, remainder to the right heirs of Mary Cooper.
