Description

Indenture of Conveyance between Charles Thomas Warde late of Welcombe Lodge but then of Clopton House esquire of the 1st part, Mark Philips of the Park, Prestwich, Lancashire and also of Snitterfield esquire of the 2nd part and John Reid of Newland Valley, Gloucestershire gentleman of the 3rd part. Reciting DR 38/1161 and the Will of George Lloyd dated 9th July 1831 whereby he devised all his real property except his trust estates to his brother John Gamaliel Lloyd for life with remainder to the Testator's nephew Charles Thomas Warde (son of the Testator's sister Charlotte wife of the Reverend Thomas Warde) and his heirs for ever and Testator by a Codicil recited that he had agreed to purchase the Clopton Estate for £14000 which sum he directed to be charged upon his estates at Welcombe and Hulme, Lancashire and reciting the death of George Lloyd on 11th July 1831 and an Indenture dated 17th October 1834 between Charles Thomas Warde and Richard Marriott whereby Charles Thomas Warde conveyed the hereditaments devised to him by George Lloyd to Richard Marriott subject to the life estate of John Gamaliel Lloyd upon trust to raise thereout £14000 and upon certain trusts specified (being a Marriage Settlement between him and Marianne Lawes of Rothamstead, Harpenden, Hertfordshire) and reciting that the sum of £14000 had been raised out of other lands devised by George Lloyd than those described in DR 38/1145 and by a map in DR 38/1167, it was thereby witnessed that Charles Thomas Warde in pursuance of a contract and in consideration of £9950 to him paid by Mark Philips conveyed to Mark Philips the premises described in DR 38/1145 and also set out in DR 38/1167 by a map and Schedule.
