Part of a commonplace book, (unfoliated) the contents being as follows: ff. 1-20: fragment of 'Ignoramus' (Cambridge satirical latin comedy), 1615 by George Ruggle. Starts in Act 4, scene 4 and continues to end of text [ff.15-18 conserved iwth fine tissue overlay] ff. 21-23: verses on the court performance of 'Ignoramus' from 'John a Stile' of Gray's Inn to 'Dulman' (a character in the play), with Dulman's reply ff. 24-28: Latin English letters (numbered 18-24) concerning the appointment of George Villiers, 1st Duke of Buckingham, as Chancellor of Cambridge University , June 1626 ff.29-33: 'Oratio Prevaricatoris' by 'Dominus Horsey' 1627 [probably George Horsey, who matriculated from Trinity in 1619; BA 1624, MA 1627] ff. 34-36: Latin oration by Thomas Randolph, undated ff. 37-45: English salting by Thomas Randolph, performed at Trinity College, Cambridge in early October 1627. [This is the only complete copy. There is an incomplete, later, bowdlerized transcript in the Osborn collection, Yale University] The hand changes at this point, and is apparently earlier, but is part of the same gatherings. ff. 46-51r: Latin oration of 'Dominus Love', 5 November [Richard Love (1559-1661), MA, DD, Fellow of Clare, Senior Proctor, Vice-Chancellor 1633-34, Lady Margaret Professor of Divinity 1649] ff. 51r-54v: Latin funeral oration for 'Magister Parkinson' [probably John, , BA 1567, MA 1571 from St John's College, Rector of Colne, Essex, d.1628 ] ff. 55r-56r: Latin oration by 'Magistri Love' ff. 56v-64v: blank
