Description

From Eliza Hodgson (mother) Philipe St, Sydney, to Frank Hodgson. They are established in their apartments which have very fine rooms but the drainage is bad. They have had a warm welcome but everyone is disgusted that they are to live in Queensland.Papa is looking for a house there. She comments on her daughters' activities. Mr Isaacs is not well. She comments on the progress of the Isaacs children and also of their friends, Clara and Adrian Knox. She says that Sydney is very little changed. Everyone comments that she is looking wonderfully young. Lord and Lady Belmore should be popular as they are anxious to do what is right. They have seen the Prince. She is pleased that Frank has been to Leamington and she is thankful that he has not been raised in Sydney as the colonial boys have no polish. The Prince is to be back for a Ball at the Yacht Club. She speaks of a little deaf Eton coach who has paid them a visit and enquired after Frank.. Hopes that Frank will be civil to young Knox as the family have been very kind to them. She has written to Annie . She hopes that he will make friends at Cambridge. Charlotte is much better and Emily is much thinner.
