Gift with warranty from Hugh Tofte of Hatton' and Alice his wife to John Archer' of Toneworth' of all lands, tenements, rents, reversions and services with meadows, pastures, feedings, woods, subwoods, heaths, fisheries and commons in the lordship of Hatton' county Warr'; to hold for ever from the chief lords of the fee for due and customary service. Appointment of John Scheldon' and John Parsons attorneys to deliver seisin. Dated at Tonworth' 20 July 16 Henry VII. Witnesses: Henry Parsons chaplain, Thomas Grene, Thomas Wescote, William Parsons, of Tonworth', Robert Sewe of Hatton' and others. 1. Fragment of red wax on tag. 2. Tag for seal. Endorsed: [In the same hand] Memorandum that Henry Parsons chaplain was present when the grantors signed this charter and delivered it to the said John Archer esquire and that the said Henry also wrote this charter. [Contemp.] Memorandum that John Edwardes priest was at Hatton' 26 July [1501] when the grantor gave him seisin of the said property in the name of John Archer the elder.
