From Arthur Hodgson, Montpellier, Brisbane to Frank Hodgson. Franks letter dated Leamington October 3 reached him on November 30. He is pleased with Frank's accountof his visit to Annie's present home. She gives them cause for concern because she is far from strong. He hopes that Frank will spend his Christmas holidays with Uncle Henry and pay a visit to his friend John Watts at Norton Court. The Panama Mail Company is to be broken up. He is no longer minister for Works and Gold Fields because the Government has been turned out. He was offered Post Master General with aseat in the Upper House but declined it. Mr Ramsay is also in the House. They are still in want of rain in order to grow grass for their numerous flocks and herds. He has written to Lord Hatherton thanking him for his kindess to rank. He advises Frank on entering the Church. Tells Frank not to expect much from him owing to his altered circumstances. This letter is incomplete
