Description

From Emily Hodgson, Montpellier, Brisbane to Frank Hodgson. Frank's photo is very nice. She is being the housekeeper for Papa. Mama has been in Sydney for 3 weeks. Lilly is to leave school in June for which Emily is glad. Last Saturday Miss Hodgson gave a select luncheon and the old Governor took her into dinner. Cornwallis Hewitt is coming to stay. On Tuesday they are going to have a picnic in the Government Steamer. On Friday there is to be a Peace Ball at Ipswich. On the 24 the Governor has a Grand Levee and a bazaar for a week. Mr Vaneck is down. Has Frank heard anything of Nellie Bloxham. Since Mama went away they have had Mrs Green staying. Papa has got a horse for riding. She is going exploring with Miss Brownlow, lately arrived from England and they had a visit from Mr Grimes. She says that the house is charming, one of the best houses in the colony. She hopes that the dullest year of her life is done.
