Hodgson of Clopton House: Correspondence and diary notes

Description

From Eliza Hodgson (Lilly), Montpellier, Brisbane to Frank Hodgson. A note from Mother urges Frank not to forget about Percy's school. Lilly writes that she and Percy came up a few weeks ago and Percy will return (to Sydney) in a fortnight. She is not going back but will be going on with her lessons by herself. The weather is very mild and she thinks that there is a great difference between the climate there and in Sydney. She is going to ride Percy's pony after he has left. Corny Hewitt has left Brisbane. He enjoyed his visit and had good Balls and parties. She was given two prizes at school, one in French, one in Scripture. She is teaching Sunday school now. The Ball went off well. Charlotte has grown very much and there is only an inch between difference between them. A young man called Herbert has been to stay for his health. He visits Cambridge and says that he will look out for Frank.
