Hodgson of Clopton House: Correspondence and diary notes

Description

From Eliza Hodgson, Clopton To Frank Hodgson, Rome There is no front page to this letter but the contents indicate that it was written in February 1872. She talks about the Balls which they have attended and describes the fancy dress which they wore. Lilly is much admired but wants menners yet and Emily did not wish to go to these Balls. Charlotte will not go back to Brighton and she does not know what they will do with her. Percy is to remain at Mr Browning's until summer. She thinks that it is a mistake for him to give up school. They are losing Kate and the kitchen maid. Annie and James are enjoying themselves.
