Description

Gift with warranty from William de Oddingesel' [d. 1295] to Adam, son of William the clerk, of the vill of Maxstok' for his homage and service of all the land with a messuage formerly belonging to John de Kingesford', lying on both sides of the highway leading from the church of Maxstok' toward Metleye in the said vill of Maxstok', extending on the one hand from the said highway as far as the land formerly belonging to Simon de Metleye beyond Bulehull' there and from the land of Ralph de Cowleg' as far as the land of Hugh son of the reeve, and on the other hand from the said highway as far as the moor formerly belonging to the said John de Kingesford and from the land of Roger de Bolenhull' as far as the land of William the baker, as it is inclosed by hedges and ditches; to hold freely, except for monks and Jews, rendering annually to the grantor 10s. [2 terms] in lieu of all secular services, exactions, claims and demands and in lieu of 'tac' and 'tol', excepting foreign service. Undated.
