Description
Copy of the will of Dame Elizabeth Barnard wife of Sir John Barnard of Abington, Northants Knight whereby testatrix after various recitals devises and bequests not relating to the premises in Henley Street devised to her kinsman Thomas Hart eldest son of Thomas Hart theretofore of Stratford-upon-Avon her messuage or Inn called the Maidenhead in Stratford-upon-Avon with appurtenances and the house adjoining with the barn these belonging then in the occupation of Michael Johnson with all appurtenances to hold to Thomas Hart the son and the heirs of his body and in default of such issue to George Hart brother of the said Thomas the son and heirs of his body and in default of such issue to the right heirs of the Testatrix and the Testatrix appointed her kinsman Edward Bagley citizen of London her sole Executor. Executed by the testatrix. Witnesses John Flowers rector of Abington and Francis Wickes. With Copy of Probate extracted from the Registry of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury the 20th August 1847 4 folios. Note the testatrix died at Abington aforesaid the 17th Feb. 1670 and the said will was proved by Edward Bayley the 9th March 1669/70 in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury.
