Description

Copy of the Will of William Izod of Stratford upon Avon whereby testator devised to his wife Elizabeth Izod all his seal and personal property for her own use and benefit, and he appointed her his sole Executrix. Witnesses Wm. Barrett, Catherine Barrett and Dinah Warrilow. Codicil dated the 13th December 1833 whereby the Testator devised to his wife's nephew Charles Canning theretofore of Stratford upon Avon but then of Birmingham his three newly erected messuages with appurtenances in Payton Street, Stratford upon Avon upon turn adjoining the Warwick Road in Old Stratford then in the occupation of the Reverend Richard Pritcherd, Mr. Faulkener and Mr Horridge (except the seat in the new Gallery of Stratford Church occupied by Mr. Horridge) also a piece of garden ground adjoining to the said messuages in the occupation of John Tallis subject to a mortgage for £600 upon the property and also to the payment theretofore; of the annual sum of £50 to the Testator's wife Elizabeth for her life and of any sum owing by the Testator at his death for repairs to the said premises. And Testator in other respects confirmed his said Will and appointed the said Charles Canning Executor of his Will jointly with his said wife. Witnesses Fanny Hyde and Robert Bell Wheler, Attorney, Stratford upon Avon. Proved by both the Executor and Executrix in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury the 13th October 1840. 3rd Aug1833 will 13th December 1839 codicil 13 Oct1840 probate
