Description

Indenture of Lease by Benjamin Smith of Hampton Lucy Yeoman to Thomas Court of Stratford-upon-Avon Innholder and Leonard Court of Barton in the parish of Alderminster, Worcs. yeoman of a messuage in Henley Street called the Swan and Maidenhead therefore in the tenure of John Yates and then of Joseph Jobson and also the messuage on the west side of the last said messuage therefore in the occupation of Shakespeare Hart subsequently of Thomas Hart decd. And then of Thomas Hornby and all other land and ground to the said tenements belonging for a term of one year at the rent of one peppercorn. Signed by the mark of Benjamin Smith Seal of red wax impression of Shakespeare's head. Witnesses Robert Wheler, Solicitor Stratford-upon-Avon and Robt. Bell Wheler his clerk.
