Description

Conveyance between William Sheldon of Stratford upon Avon Gent and Joseph Slatter of Ilmington Farmer of 1st part. Robert Bell Wheler of Stratford upon Avon Gent of 2nd part Elizabeth Izod of Stratford upon Avon widow of 3rd part Thomas Thomson Esquire Doctor of Medicine, William Oakes Hunt, David Rice and Edward Fordham Flower all of Stratford upon Avon Gents of the 4th part. Reciting that Jonathan Izod by a codicil dated the 23rd April 1817 to his Will (for which see No.66) devised the four cottages in Henley Street described in No 64 to his nephew William Izod after the death of his wife Sarah and reciting the death of the Testator the 18th August 1817 and the proof of his Will by his Executors Thomas Sheldon of Burmington and Thomas Sheldon of Stratford upon Avon the 29th October 1817 and reciting the mortgage described in No 69,74 by William Izod of his reversion of any interest expectant on the death of the said Sarah in hereditaments in Welford and in the said four cottages in Henley Street to Robert Bell Wheler and reciting the repayment by William Izod to Robert BellWheler of £200 on the 31st January 1827 and reciting the death of Sarah Izod on the 8th March 1828 and of Thomas Sheldon of Stratford upon Avon on the 13th October 1828 and of Thomas Sheldon of Burmington on the 14th January 1837 also by his Will appointed the said William Sheldon and Joseph Slatter his Executors who proved the Will the 22nd May 1837 and reciting the Will and Codicil of William Izod (see No 7176) whereby he devised certain property in Payton Street in Stratford upon Avon to Chas. Canning subject to certain payments and the residue of his seal and personal property to his wife Elizabeth Izod whom he appointed his Executrix jointly with the said Chas. Canning and reciting the death of William Izod the 29thDecember 1839 and the proof of his will by his Executrix and Executor the 13th October 1840 and reciting the repayment by Elizabeth Izod to Robert Bell Wheler of the sum of £500 remaining owing on the said mortgage (No 67) It was this day witnessed that William Sheldon, Joseph Slatter and Robert Bell Wheler at the direction of Elizabeth Izod , to whom the said Thomas Thompson , W. O. Hunt, David Rice and Edward F. Flower paid £820 the purchase price of the premises conveyed to the said Thomas Thomson, William Oakes Hunt, David Rice and Edward Fordham Flower the four cottages in Henley Street, Stratford upon Avon described in No 58 60 theretofore in the occupation of Edward Lightfoot, Daniel Field, Daniel Hobbins and Thomas Rogers, subsequently of William Warrilow, John Malins, Widow Sumner and John Gibson and then of Thomas Hewins, Widow Ludlow, Samuel Russell and Samuel Steel, being on the West side of, adjoining and originally forming part of Shakespeare's Birthplace with all appurtenances, to hold the same as joint tenants.
