Description

Covenant between Thomas Vyner of Ethrop, gentleman, of the first part, John Mould of London, gentleman, and Bernard Eales of London, gentleman, of the second part, Jonathan Samieaires of Chancery Lane, Middlesex, gentleman, of the third part and Smart Goodenough of London, merchant, of the fourth part, to levy a fine in favour of Jonathan Samwairs for £500 paid by Smart Goodenough to John Mould and Bernard Eales and £300 paid by Smart Goodenough to Thomas Vyner of a capital messuage, 4 cottages with arable land, meadows, leys, leisures and pastures and common of pasture and woods, now or late in the several tenures of Richard Linede, Richard Cosby, John Binell, William Darby, and Thomas Letts in Ethrop, Wattenbury, Stretton, Ryton, Bubnell and Frankton, consisting of 420 acres with tithes, so that the said Jonathan Samwairs is made a proper and fitting tenant of the freehold, with the intent that a recovery be made of the said property to the use of Smart Goodenough for £1,000, provided that if Thomas Vyner repays the sum of £840 this indenture will be declared void.
