Description

Quitclaim from John de Weston' of Couentr' to Richard Godeman the younger of Baddesleye of all the lands, tenements, woods, hedges, ditches, groves, meadows, pastures and appurtenances which the said John held by the gift and feoffment of Philip son and heir of Roger Chetewynde knt, in Baddesleye. The said Richard to hold the same for ever. Sealing clause. Witnesses: Walter de Herford'; Thomas le Harper; Robert de Crowenhale; John de Conynggesby and others. Given at Couentr' 18 June 34 Edward III [1360]. Two circular seals of natural wax on tags. 1. A shield within a cusped 8 foil, defaced. 1 in. 2. Figure of the Blessed Virgin Mary standing with the Holy Child in her arms with the kneeling figure of a suppliant, imperfect. Legend indecipherable. 1 in.
