Description

Gift from John Hewetes of Kyngeswode to Thomas Yue of the same of one meadow with a pond and garden enclosed by hedges and ditches called le Blakelond. To hold the same rendering annually to the chief lord 3d. at the two terms, 1 1/2 d. at the feast of St. Andrew and 1 1/2 d. at the feast of St. Peter ad vincula in equal portions in lieu of all secular services. Warranty clause. Sealing clause. Witnesses: John Brome de Lapworth; Walter Slye; Thomas Fletcher' of the same; Oliver Burdet de Baddesle; Walter Godmon' of the same and many others. Given at Baddesley Clinton at the feast of St. Michael the Archangel 21 Richard II [29 September 1397]. Circular seal of red wax on tag, cracked and incomplete. 3/4 in. The letter W.
