Description

Gift from Joan Burdet widow of Robert Burdet lord of Baddesley Clynton' to John Blakenhale chaplain, John Swetton, Richard Whiteley and Thomas Hukyns of lands, tenements, rents, reversions, services and appurtenances in Baddesley which formerly belonged to Oliver Burdet. To hold the same for ever from the chief lords of the fee for due and customary service, rendering annually to the said Joan 9s. 2 1/2 d. at the two usual terms. Sealing clause. Witnesses: William Notyng de Rowynton'; Thomas Smyth of the same: Thomas Mason' of the same; Nicholas Godeman de Baddesley; John Saundres of the same and others. Given at Baddesley Tuesday next before the feast of All Saints 3 Henry VI [31 October 1424]. Octagonal seal of green wax on tag. 1/2 in. see DR3/187.
