Description

Agreement made between Sir John Harrington of Exton, co. Rutland knt. of the one part and Henry Ferrers of Baddesley Clynton esq. and Walter Gifford of Hieon [High Onn], co. Stafford esq. on the other whereby the said Sir John in consideration of a bond in the penal sum of £1,000 made by Thomas Thomlynson of Come Abbey yeoman before Sir Edmund Anderson knt. Lord Chief Justice of the Common Pleas at Westminster agreed that the said bond should be void if the said Sir John was saved harmless from any sums of money charged on the manor of Hambledon [Hambleton], co. Rutland purchased by the said Sir John from the said Henry on 10 July 43 Elizabeth [1601] and if the said Henry paid any such debts arising up to £10 or more within one year of the same being presented to him. 12 July 43 Elizabeth [1601].
