Counterpart of a mortgage from Thomas Oldnoll of Warr' gent. to Thomas Wagstaff of the same gent. of four closes of meadow and pasture in the parish of Baddesley Clynton called Greate Gilbertes, Little Gilbertes, Milfeild and Gilbertes meadow together with a barn standing on Greate Gilbertes and the `vesture' and pasture of a wood called Gilbertes grove, reserving the timber on the said lands and free entrance and exit to the same, which lands the said Thomas Oldnoll held by a lease dated 9 June 42 Elizabeth [1600] from Henry Ferrers of Badesley Clynton esq., George Brome of Halleton [Holton], Oxon. esq. and Walter Gifford of Higheon [High Onn], co. Stafford, esq. for 100 years for the annual rent of £3 [see DR3/344.]. To hold the same for the remainder of the said term at the said rent with provision that the same should be void if the said Thomas Oldnoll repaid the said Thomas Wagstaff £63 at the house of the said Thomas Wagstaff called the College in Warwick on 20 May 1608. 18 November 5 James I [1607].
