Description

Mortgage from Thomas Monkes of Starton in the parish of Stonley husbandman to Thomas Johnson of Kenellworth yeoman of two cottages with gardens, orchards and appurtenances in Badgley Clynton and lands adjoining the said cottages called Bradshawes grove then divided into three parts and in the occupation of William Knight and William Hopkins, together with the deeds relating to the same. To hold the same for ever from the said Thomas Monkes and Darnegall his wife with provision that the same should be void if the said Thomas Monkes repaid the said Thomas Johnson £40 on 1 May 1630 at his house in Kenellworth, the said Thomas Monkes also to pay the annual rent of £3 4s. during the intervening period.
