Description
Manor of Rowington. Court Baron of James Cooke and Thomas Jayce gents. held 24 October 1654 before Abraham Gibbons gent. steward. Copy of court roll recording the surrender by William Saunders gent. outside the court through John Field and Thomas Tibbotts, two of the customary tenants, and the admittance of Henry Ferrers esq. to a cottage, close and meadow called Mudwall with gardens, orchards and buildings then in the occupation of the said William Saunders. The said Henry Ferrers to hold the same for ever according to the custom of the manor for the annual rent of 3s. and an entry fine of 3s. The names of the jury present being William Saunders gent., Samuel Parker gent., John Milborne, John Parker, William Shakespeare, Thomas Rogers, John Tibbotts, Peter Collins, Thomas Benford, Robert Eadon, John Grissold and Francis Grissold.
