Exemplification of an extract from Quarter Sessions held at Warwick 20 April 38 Elizabeth [1596] before Fulk Greevile, Thomas Lucye knts., Edward Grevile, Richard Verney, Thomas Spencer, Ralph Hubande and others, reciting an Act of Parliament 31 Elizabeth against the erection of cottages, which permitted Justices to sanction the building of such cottages for a term to be specified by them, by which authority permission was granted to Ellis Birde of Badsley yeoman to erect a cottage for `a poore labouring man' upon a close of land belonging to the said Ellis Birde called Bradshawes in Badsle, to be used for a term of 30 years.
