Description

Bond from Edward Ferrers of Lewes, Sussex gent. to Henry Ferrers of Badisley Clynton esq. in the penal sum of £500 to secure performance of covenants outlined in a conveyance by bargain and sale made by the said Edward to the said Henry of one messuage and a harrowing place in the tenure of Roger Prest with all lands and appurtenances belonging to the same called Brode field, and closes called Little close, Burchebrookes and Holme close in Chadwitche End in the lordship of Balsall, a messuage in the tenure of Lawrence Cowper called a Plowe Place with all lands and appurtenances and certain closes called Pypers close, Appletree close, Sweete meadow, Chetons well and Home close in Chadwitche, another messuage in the tenure of John Beafoe gent. called a Plow Place with all lands and appurtenances and six closes called Hickenhande in Chadwitche and all other lands in Balsall, Chadwitche End and Fenne End with woods, rights and appurtenances. The said Edward to surrender the same at the next court of the manor of Balsall and the said Henry admitted to the same. 1 April 3 James I [1605].
