Legal cases: Archer of Tanworth

Description

Petition from the inhabitants of lands formerly belonging to Bordesley Abbey to Sir Richard Riche, Chancellor of the [Court of Augmentations]. Previous to the dissolution of the abbey, the abbot was patron of the parish church of Bordesley and provided a curate to minister to the inhabitants. Since the dissolution they have been without spiritual comfort. They cannot travel to any other church because the area is surrounded by rivers which flood. They therefore petition for a minister to be appointed.
