Gift from Philip son and heir of the late Roger de Chetewynde knt. to William le Rodye of Warr' son and heir of the late John le Rodye of a messuage in Baddesley Clynton' which formerly belonged to the said Sir Roger, father of the said Philip, together with fields, meadows, pastures, feedings, ponds, fishpools, marlpits, groves, roads, with hedges, ditches and all other appurtenances, together with woodland extending on one hand `in tho' Kyngeswode, on another near Nonneleyefeld, Geggegroue and Lockescroft and thus through a lane `into' Grenefeld, and on the third side extending through the wood of the lord of Baddesleye Clynton' as it is bounded by certain trees growing there and the headland of the said wood extending `tho' Ketelstyl. To hold the same for ever from the chief lords of the fee for due and customary service. Warranty clause. Sealing clause: because his seal was unknown he has used the seal of the Dean of the Collegiate church of St. Mary of Warr'. Witnesses: Richard Godman, the elder; Richard his son; Henry Luscombe; Reginald Haukyns; John Wilkyns and others. Given at Baddesleye Clynton' Sunday next after the feast of St. Faith the Virgin 34 Edward III [11 October 1360]. Tag for seal with traces of red wax, torn.
