Copy of ?extract from the Will of Thomas Smith of Meriden, gent. Bequests: To his son George Thomas Smith of Marton, surgeon, his daughter Esther Sophia and his daughter Ann Elizabeth wife of Charles Buchanan, personal goods, To his son William Henry Smith of Philadelphia U.S.A. vetenary surgeon £100. Appoints James Kittermaster of Meriden, Doctor of Physic and the said George Thomas Smith to administer his shares in the Birmingham Gas Company. First to pay his debts and funeral expenses and the residue of the money to be invested for the use of the said Esther Sophia for life if she remained single, otherwise to be divided equally among his children. The said James Kittermaster and George Thomas Smith to be Executors. Codicil dated 3 November 1843 concerning the settlement to be made upon the said Ann Elizabeth if she should be widowed before the marriage or death of the said Esther Sophia.
