Description

Probate copy of the will (dated 18 August 1700) of Eleanor, Lady Leigh. £20 to the poor of Stoneleigh £60 to bind 12 poor boys apprentice, viz: 4 from Stoneleigh, 1 each from Ashow, Wootton,Weston, Itchington, Hunningham, Redway, Dunton and Ashby St. Ledgers. To son Edward: share of Tylehill Farm Japan cabinet with china in drawing room pictures of mother and brother `Rockingham and Wentworth' To younger children: Anne, Eleanor, Charles and Lewis (Mary having died), confirms settlement of land at Hunningham :shares of plate, jewels, etc. Keepsakes to testator's brothers and sisters, viz: Lord Rockingham, Thomas Wentworth, George Watson, Lady Oxenden, Mrs. Anne Watson, Mrs. Margaret Watson. Trustees and executors: brother and sister Thomas Wentworth alias Watson and Margaret Watson. Confirmed by Thomas, Lord Leigh, Lady Leigh being too ill. Proved at Canterbury.
