Deed poll by Oliver Newman of Sewell in the parish of Houghton Regis, co. Bedford, yeoman, witnessing that he had, in consideration of £2.10s. bargained and sold to William Moorton of Dunstable in the same county, baker, one half acre of arrable land in the parish of Houghton Regis in a field called Dunstable Inings, next land then in the occupation of Mychaell Cooke on the W. and next land of William Midcalfe on the E., abutting S. upon land of William Midcalfe and N. upon Mixway, which premises amongst others were then lately had and purchased of John Buckman of Sewell, yeoman, by deed poll dated 14 April 1648, to have and to hold to William Moorton free of all claim by or through Oliver Newman or Mary his wife or John Buckman or Ann his wife or any of them. Sealed and delivered, and seizin delivered, in the presence of Mychaell Mayes (by his mark) and Richard Atkins scr: Endorsed: Oliver Newman his deede to William Moorton. William Morton sold to John Inson and John Briggs bought from him. Attached is a bond of obligation of the same date from Oliver Newman to William Moorton in £5 for the performance of covenants, same signature and witnesses.
