Oxhill deeds: Hiron of Alveston

Description

Settlement on the marriage of John Ward of Oxhill, yeoman, and Anne Hyron daughter of Thomas Hyron the elder of Alveston, gentleman, being a conveyance by lease and release from the said John Ward to Thomas Hyron the elder and Thomas Hyron the younger of Alveston, gentleman, for £400, of a capital messuage or mansion house in Oxhill, late in the successive tenures of William Clerke, gentleman, deceased, John Tenant and Thomas Rawbone, together with four yardlands late in the several tenures of Robert Eden, Richard Townes and Edward Eden, and since of the said John Tenant and Thomas Rawbone, and all which premises are now in the tenure of the said John Ward; to hold the same, as to three yardlands, and a moiety of the house, to the use of the said John Ward and his intended wife for their lives, with remainder to their children; and as to the other moiety of the house and one yardland, to the use of the said John Ward and his heirs and assigns for ever. Bond to perform covenants enclosed.
