Description

Case, with the Opinion of William Eagle, Middle Temple, as to whether a payment of £13 p.a. to Eton College and £20 to the Vicar of Long Compton paid by the Sheldon family before the sale of the Weston estates and since 1819 by the then purchaser Sir George Phillips, bart., are a modus in lieu of tithes. The tithes are about to be commuted and Eton deny that the sum is a composition.
