Demise of Land: Upper Quinton

Description

Demise from Robert Hunckes of North Wyke, co. Worcs., esq. to Michael Rutter of Over Quinton, co. Glos., yeoman, Margaret his wife, and John Rutter their son, of his two messuages and three yards of land and one half yard land lying and being in the town of Over Quinton and in the fields of Over Quinton, now in the occupation of the said Michael Rutter, to hold to the said Michael and Margaret from the feast of the Annunciation of our blessed lady Saint Mary the Virgin last past for the term of the natural life of the said Michael Rutter and Margaret and of either of them longest living, with remainder to the said John Rutter from and immediately after the deceases of Michael and Margaret for and during the whole term of the natural life of the said John Rutter, paying yearly unto the said Robert Hunckes, his heirs and executors forty shillings, and the quit rents and other yearly charges going out of the premises during the said term; and at every of his or her deceases, for one of the said messuages, his or her best beast for and in the name of one heriot, and for the other of the said messuages twenty shillings, for and in the name of one other heriot; the said Michael, Margaret and John covenant to make a sufficient and perfect terrier of the lands above demises and shall continually ordain and set such marks and signs upon and against the said lands above written, that the same may always be evidently known and kept without alteration or exchange of any other lands from time to time during the said term; and that neither the said Michael nor John nor any other person enjoying the premises by force of this lease, shall at any time during the said term, serve or be retained in service, with any manner of person or persons, neither shall use nor wear the livery, cognisance or badge of any person or persons other than of the said Robert Hunckes or his heirs.
